Robert "Bob" Anderson grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, where he attended the Glasgow School of Art before graduating from the Derby College of Art, School of Creative Photography in 1970.

Over the next 35 years, he was widely published as an assignment photographer in North America and Europe while pursuing personal photography projects. Anderson continues his personal work today, which is held in both private and public collections.
